From Amazon Go, the shop with no lines, and instant shipping and delivery, to hotels being serviced by Alexa, Amazon Echo, and Amazon Air. This mini documentary takes a look at how Amazon and Jeff Bezos are designing, and investing, into technology and new services that will bring a futuristic city to life.

Why the Future of Farming is in Cities – The Big Money in Vertical Farming Venture City
You’ll be seeing more and more high tech farms popping up in cities. As the population grows, and we run out of farming land, along with climate change, the future of farming is to bring them into our cities. Creating high tech vertical farms that use aeroponics or hydroponics. From an underground farm in London, to a Japanese office building with a rice paddy field. Across the world people and companies are investing in creating new ways and technology to provide a more sustainable future. Big name investors include Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Leonardo DiCaprio, and even the former McDonalds CEO Don Thompson. All pushing the technology of farming and agriculture forward. Companies highlighted in this video include: AeroFarms, Growing Underground, Square Roots (who have Kimbal Musk, brother of Elon Musk, as a co-founder), the Open Agriculture Initiative, Persona Group, Farm One, Bowery, Plenty, Impossible Foods, and Beyond Meat.

How Much Can Vertical Farming Improve? Exa Cognition
In the last video we saw the different types and the potential of vertical farming, but we also saw how it is mostly limited to leafy greens. How can we improve vertical farming to grow more types of food, and how big can the impact be? We saw how the most promising type of vertical farm is the plant factory, and how it is more advanced than a hydroponic greenhouse. Not only does its use hydroponics but it also utilizes artificial grow lights and multiple growing levels. It has a much greater level of control over it’s environment, allowing it to boost yield. While Plant Factories might be the most viable version of vertical farming, is it going to be enough to impact the global issues? Agriculture is both a contributor and solution to major global issues, from climate change to world hunger. Can the plant factory help to solve these problems? What technology improvements are needed to make vertical farms profitable and sustainable? From the LED grow light, to solar energy, future tech will play a key role in reducing the cost and carbon footprint of this technology. But it’s not just renewable wind energy that will improve the energy efficiency. There are many improvements that can be made and we look at them in this video. As technology improves, vertical farms can broaden the variety of crops grown profitably. The difference between growing lettuce and growing rice is significant. What will it take to close the gap? Find out next video.

You also have sporting leagues such as Formula 1 and the Premier League investing into esport players and building their own esport leagues. Esport tournaments can bring in more viewers than the NBA finals. This is why big broadcasting deals are being made, and more people and companies (such as the New York Yankees) are investing into Esports.

Space Inc: The new space businesses and tech Venture City

Time Limits – The Secrets of Nature The Secrets of Nature We perceive time in terms of seconds — the length of a heartbeat. We can’t even imagine events that unfold over several days and years or be aware of elementary particles that flash into existence for less than a billionth of a second without high-tech camera equipment and exceptional filming techniques.
Limits of Perception – The Secrets of Nature
This is a journey form the smallest manmade hole – by removing just one single atom – to the edge of the universe. Man has finally succeeded in making the ancient dream of Greek philosophers come true – to «see» an atom. In another direction we also seem to have unlimited sight: the «Hubble Telescope» grants us a glimpse of the remotest galaxies. This documentary assesses the limits of human perception, taking us on a journey through time from the quasars, millions of light-years away from earth, via the wonders of our populated world to the depths of human genotype and the structure of a single atom. «Limits of Perception» promises a filmic journey of exploration from micro- into macrocosm
Limits of Light – The Secrets of Nature Humans are visual creatures — sight is our main sense. Yet our eyes often deceive us in peculiar ways. There is far more to light than meets the eye. This fascinating documentary explores the human’s visible spectrum of light and ventures even further into territories we cannot sense by ourselves without technical equipment: from coloured light to gamma rays, that could destroy all life on Earth, as well as radio waves, without which our modern society would be impossible. The film also follows the great pioneers, from Newton and Einstein, to Herschel and Roentgen, whose genius uncovered the marvels of the electro-magnetic spectrum and took us far beyond the limits of light.

But gravity’s strange powers, discovered by Albert Einstein, also affect our daily lives in the most unexpected ways. As Jim tells the story of gravity, it challenges his own understanding of the nature of reality. The science of gravity includes the greatest advances in physics, and Jim recreates groundbreaking experiments in gravity including when the Italian genius Galileo first worked out how to measure it. Gravity science is still full of surprises and Jim investigates the latest breakthrough – ‘gravity waves’ – ripples in the vast emptiness of space. He also finds out from astronauts what it’s like to live without gravity. But gravity also directly affects all of us very personally – making a difference to our weight, height, posture and even the rate at which we age. With the help of volunteers and scientists, Jim sets out to find where in Britain gravity is weakest and so where we weigh the least. He also helps design a smartphone app that volunteers use to demonstrate how gravity affects time and makes us age at slightly different rates. And finally, Jim discovers that despite incredible progress, gravity has many secrets.

Why Mānuka Honey Is So Expensive | So Expensive Business Insider
Mānuka honey known for being is earthier, richer, and more viscous than many other honeys. It comes from the nectar of the flower of Leptospermum scoparium — also known as Manuka, which is only native to New Zealand. Mānuka, in fact, is a Maori word. “The plant itself is very rare. It’s difficult to harvest because the flower is only open for 12 days, and sometimes we have to use helicopters to collect this honey.” John Rawcliffe from the Mānuka Factor Honey Association told Business Insider. Although mānuka bushes can also be found in Australia, New Zealand accounts for almost all the world’s production, with exports worth 300 million NZ dollars ($204m) and expected to rise to 1.2 billion NZ ($800m) by 2028.

2019 Spring REWIND – Brood Nest Management a Canadian Beekeeper’s Blog
a Canadian Beekeeper’s Blog I put together an edited compilation of my management for the 2019 Spring season. This season was very challenging which involved employing all my spring time management strategies. My efforts must of worked because the year ended as one of my highest production years on record. You can follow up with this video by watching “HONEY FLOW 2019 REWIND – a Canadian Beekeeper’s Blog”:

Tips to a big honey crop a Canadian Beekeeper’s Blog
A glimpse of my summer honey flow operating strategies from hive split straight to stripping boxes in the fall. I manage my hives in single brood boxes, and because of that I employ many strategies to manage swarming and to maximize my honey crop. I don’t focus at all on the split, even though it is a major part of this strategy, I will leave the brood nest management for its own video. During the 2018 crop year, my honey crop came in hard off the start and then ended extremely early. I typically get flows that run well into August but this year my flows ended in last week of July. Too hot and too dry. With these type of unpredictable weather conditions it is very important to capitalize on that nectar flow the moment it starts to flow. This is the reason why I put so much attention towards colony population brood nest management. Last year within roughly 4-5 weeks, we gathered 197,000 lbs off 1200 production hives. Very little came in on the nucs because they matured later in summer. But we did fill some boxes in some yards 🙂 We never know whats ahead of us so that is why I manage to grab it when its there! without capitalizing during the opportune times, we risk missing our main stream of income.
